Candidates begin by submitting their applications online, including resumes, portfolios, and relevant details. We prioritize clarity, measurable achievements, and relevant experience. Applications are reviewed for alignment with role expectations and business needs. Qualified applicants advance to the next stage.
Our talent team conducts a short introductory call to discuss experience, motivation, and role fit. This stage confirms communication skills, professional background, and general suitability. It’s also an opportunity for candidates to ask questions about the company, role, and hiring process before moving further into interviews.
Selected candidates complete structured interviews and role-specific assessments. These exercises evaluate technical skills, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities. Our process focuses on both approach and results, giving insight into how candidates think and perform in relevant scenarios. This step helps ensure strong alignment with the requirements of the role.
The culture interview explores alignment with our values, work style, and team dynamics. Candidates meet members of our HR team along with potential colleagues, discuss collaboration, and share expectations. This stage ensures a mutual fit, fostering long-term engagement and success while confirming that both the individual and the company can thrive together.
Before finalizing an offer, we conduct standard employment checks such as references, qualifications, and background verification where applicable. These checks help validate candidate information and support a fair, transparent process. Once completed successfully, the candidate moves forward to the offer stage and onboarding.

Absolutely! You’ll have numerous opportunities to connect with your colleagues remotely. We host regular virtual catch-ups at the company, team, and regional levels. During your onboarding, you’ll be paired with an onboarding buddy and a culture champion. Although Traild is a remote-first company, we have an office in Melbourne, and many of our Victoria-based team members choose to work from there regularly. We also organize in-person gatherings, including regional meetups, city co-working sessions, and occasionally, international travel.
